I just learned that Margaret has died and had to tell you how wonderful I thought she was. I was just a little girl in Saginaw when I met Margaret. I thought she was just beautiful, with long dancer's legs. I remember her being in the Saginaw News, posing along the Saginaw River in a white outfit. She was kind to my mother and once, while I was taking summer classes in college, my husband took our little girls on a road trip out west. He knew that Margaret lived in Tulsa, and looked her up in the phone book I think. He knocked on her door, and told her who he was, and who the mother of the little girls was. Margaret welcomed the three of them into her home and took the girls into the pool. They were there a couple of hours and Leo said he knew, now, why we all loved Margaret and the tales of her graciousness were not exaggerated! I hope, after all these months since her death, her children will receive this note from me. For many years, Margaret was very important to me.
