Obituary of David Million

David Richard Million was born December 12, 1948 in Iola, KS to Clarence and Ruth (Barnard) Million. He passed from this life March 24, 2013 at the age of 64. David was a 1967 graduate of Hominy, OK High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Oklahoma University in 1971.
He began his journalism career in Marshall, TX before taking a position with the Hominy News Progress, where he was instrumental in getting Sen. David Boren to repair a very dangerous curve known as the "99 Slide" between Hominy and Cleveland which impacted many people. He then took a position with the Tulsa World where he worked from 1998 to 2008. David earned many writing awards in both state and national contests over the course of his career. He most recently served as a representative with the AFLAC insurance company.
David was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church and very involved in the Phoenix Singles Group which assisted many people in putting their lives back together following divorce. Likewise, he was an organizing member of the Christstyle Community Bible Study group.
David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Ninde) Million; his son, David R. Million, II; and his stepson, Daniel Bowlin. He has now joined his family in peace and will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Christ United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to Christ United Methodist Church, 3515 S. Harvard Ave., Tulsa, OK 74136
