Galen Leon Meier was born on April 23, 1932 in Lewis, KS to William Gus Meier and Amy Lorene (McGill) Meier. Leon passed from this life on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the age of 82.
Leon worked for KOTV channel 6 for 35 plus years. He worked in production, doing everything from setting up sets, making props and most importantly, working behind the camera. After some health issues, Leon retired in 1986.
He is survived by his wife, Joan of the home; a son, Terry Meier of Tulsa; 2 daughters, DeeAnn Planer of Broken Arrow and Janice Zwink of Burlingame, KS; 1 brother, Ronald Meier of Pratt, KS and 4 grandchildren, Jarred Planer, Rebekah Zwink, Harrison Zwink and Remington Zwink.
