HOLT, HAROLD "WADE" passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011 surrounded by his family. Husband of Christeline( Kosted) Holt, to whom he was married for 61 years.
Wade was born November 29, 1925 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Sigel Chester and Helen (Schuette) Holt. Wade was a 1943 graduate of Will Rogers High School. During WWII he served in the US Army, stationed in France and Belgium. In 1949, he earned a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Tulsa. His professional career focused on designing natural gas processing plants and included positions with Ashland Oil, Treco, and R.L. Frailey, Inc., where he served as president.
He was a longtime member and served on the board of the Gas Processors Association. He retired in 1991. Wade was a founding member of Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he held many offices including president, elder, and evangelism chairman. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
Wade is survived by his wife Christeline; brother Bob Holt; sons Mark Holt and wife Jane, and Jim Holt and wife Rosemary; daughters Helen Blake and Karen Gribbin and husband Dave; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The family thanks the staff of Tulsa Jewish Retirement Center for providing care and support. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2550 E. 71st Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74136, or to a charity of your choice.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wade's grandchildren, Bryan Blake, Steven Blake, James Holt, Emily Walter, Hillary Holt, Amanda Gribbin, Alex Gribbin and Jamie Gribbin.
