Obituary of Lola Elbon

Lola Mae Elbon, 78, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Thursday, March 23, 2006 after a very brief battle with cancer and a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Batavia, OH on January 9, 1928 and raised in that area of southern Ohio where she met and married Durward D. Elbon. They were married for 54 years prior to his death on March 11, 2001. They moved to Tulsa, where Lola dedicated her early adult life to raising their four children. She then began a 'second' career of caring, by becoming a Nurse Technician in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit of Saint Francis Hospital, before retiring after 17 years of service. A long time member of the Joynor Class of First United Methodist Church, Lola's loving smile will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. Lola was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Irene Reynolds; her sister, Evelyn Oren; her brother, Ed Reynolds; and her husband, Durward. Lola is survived by her sisters, Mildred Dobbins of Orange, CA and Joanne Factor of Maineville, OH. Also survived by her children and their families: Dean and Jane Elbon, Mike, Anne and Christa of Tulsa; Nancy Langston, Nathan and Jennifer Brackett, Jack of San Antonio; Brett and Sandra Elbon, Grace and Greer of Tulsa; Randy and Jennifer Smith, Angela, Brennan and Dakota of Jenks. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 27, 2006 at First United Methodist Church followed by a graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery.
