David H. Barnes,73, passed away on November 30, 2008. David was born in Tulsa, OK to David and Milbra (Taylor) Barnes. David was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Barbara Carbajal. David grew up in Houston where he graduated from Saint Edward's High School in Austin TX. He went on to serve in the United States Army in Europe for four years. Upon returning to Houston, he received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Houston. David moved to Tulsa in 1974 and married Marilyn Ennis. He is survived by his wife and 2 children, William Barnes (wife, Joanne) and Heather Barnes King (husband, Steve) and 4 grandchildren: Candace King, Chris King, Maddy Barnes and Abby Barnes all of Tulsa. David was a retired home builder and developer who built homes in Houston TX, Tulsa OK, Naples FL, Bakersfield CA and Dallas TX. David loved every aspect of the building business. He was a member of the Home Builder's Association and held real estate broker licenses in Oklahoma, Florida and California. He was also a licensed appraiser in Oklahoma and held General Contractor licenses in Florida and California. Upon his return to Tulsa in 2003 he became active in the Lancaster Park Homeowner's Association and served as President until he resigned earlier this year due to illness. Memorial Mass will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6th at the Church of the Madelene, 3188 E. 22nd. Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
