Obituary of Dorothy Wade

Dorothy Marie (Maria) York Wade Dorothy Marie (Maria) York Wade, born March 6, 1931 and passed away March 23, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert York. She is survived by a small biological family, a small extended family and a host of loving friends. She was a graduate of Charles Page High School, Sand Springs, OK. and continued to maintain some of those friendships at occasional lunches. Her eventual career led her to be an Administrative Assistant with the Tulsa School District Service Center. Maria had and pursued a wide variety of interests and affiliations. She loved reading, gardening, and traveling. She was a past member of Sweet Adelines, an active member of PEO, chapter DE and an active member of Southern Hills Baptist Church. She was enormously inquisitive, supportive, and outgoing, gathering friends wherever she went. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Southern Hills Baptist Church 2218 E. 56th Pl, Tulsa, OK 74105 or Sand Springs Children's Home, P.O. Box 278, Sand Springs, OK 74063. Private burial will take place at a latter date.
