Obituary of Myrtle Mattix
Please share a memory of Myrtle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Myrtle Marie Mattix was born to Martin and Myrtle Casey in Oilton, OK, on December 19, 1923. It was her request and heart's desire to have all of her family together for Thanksgiving 2005. Although she was unable to attend the family celebration due to illness, her children and many of her grandchildren were able to visit with her at home, and at 10:00 p.m. she went to sleep to wake in the presence of God. Her oldest daughter Saundra Garrett and husband Vernon of Porter, OK, and her son, Charles (Buster) Mattix and wife Marilyn of Barstow, CA, are confident that she has joined her daughter and their sister, Anita Sue Pruitt, who preceded her in death in 1992.
Myrtle was married and leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Charles Lewis Mattix Jr. She dearly loved her 9 grandchildren, Anissa, Charles IV, Bryan, Angela, Ryan, Amy, Jim, Josh, Tyler, and 21 great grandchildren. She was an active member and loved by the Central Free Will Baptist Church family. A memorial/celebration service will be held at Central Free Will Baptist Church on Saturday, November 26, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, individuals who wish to express their love for Myrtle in a monetary fashion may contribute to a memorial fund and make their donations payable to Central Free Will Baptist Church.
