Obituary of Geraldine Wayland

Geraldine "Jerry" Tibbits Wayland, 98, died at her home in Tulsa, OK on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Mrs. Wayland was born September 30, 1909 in Guthrie, Oklahoma the daughter of Richard A. and Jennie Mae (Garland) Holt. She was raised in Tulsa, OK where she graduated from Central High School. She married Luther "Luke" Wayland on January 25, 1928 in Nowata, OK. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1989. Together they owned and operated the Victory Auction Company. They raised and raced thoroughbred horses until 1976. She attended East Side Christian Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Wayland and and her sister, Josephine Rochelle. She is survived by her daughter-in-law: Jo Ann Wayland of Kansas, OK; her grandsons: Rick O'Bryan of Baton Rouge, LA and Roy Wayland of Kansas, OK; her great grandchildren, Kendra O'Bryan and Richard Wayland. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008 in the Memorial Park cemetery.
