Obituary of Billie Alley

Billie Jean (Travis) Alley passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012. She was born August 27, 1936 in Kansas City, Missouri to William B. and Gladys Donnell Travis. She grew up in Rapid City, South Dakota attending the University of South Dakota in Vermillion where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She married Tom J. Alley November 23, 1956, and moved to Kansas City, MO where he completed dental school. After his graduation they moved to Tulsa in 1965 where she was a homemaker and a mother of four children. She was an active member of John Knox Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school and was involved in the Mariners Dinner Club. She also devoted much of her time serving as a humanitarian for the Tulsa Psychiatric Clinic. Once her children had grown, Billie Jean founded the Top Drawer Women's Consignment Clothing store, which she owned and operated with the help of many close friends, until her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her four children, Jeff Alley, Tom Alley, Jennifer Alley Green, and Shawn Alley, and her 7 grandchildren, Travis Alley and Piper Alley, Matt Green V and Elizabeth Green, Blake Alley, Will Alley and Emily Alley.
The memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26th in the John Knox Presbyterian Church, 2929 E. 31st.
