Obituary of Virginia Patterson

Virginia Alice (Miller) Patterson was born February 23, 1925 in Hockerville, OK, the eldest daughter of Edward and Nettie Miller. A loving wife, mother and "Nana," Mrs. Patterson passed from this life Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the age of 82. She was a 1943 graduate of Joplin High School and was crowned JopliMo Queen. She married M. Wayne Patterson August 29, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1999. She was also preceded by her parents; a brother, Edward and a grandson Allen Patterson. Mrs. Patterson is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Terry and David Hofferber; sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Mary Patterson, Russ and Paula Patterson and Ted and Melinda Patterson; 8 grandchildren, Susan Goins and her husband, Roger, Aubrey Ringleb and her husband Mat, Lindsay Davis and her husband Jake, Geoffrey Patterson, Michael Patterson and his wife, Anne, Lesley Patterson, Noble Patterson and Alexis Patterson; 3 great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Emma Goins and Bennett Ringleb; her sisters, Jeanette, Jean, Jessie and Judy; and, her brothers, Harry and Dick. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. Thursday at Ninde Brookside Funeral Home, 39th & South Peoria Ave. A funeral service will be held 10:00a.m. Friday, November 30, 2007 at Ninde Brookside Chapel.
