OWEN - Raymond "Jack" Eugene, 83, of Sun Lakes, AZ, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2007. The son of Lewis R. Owen and Ruth Stringer Owen, he was born January 13, 1924, in Eureka, KS. He graduated from Lamont High School in 1941, and attended College of Emporia before joining the Army in 1942. Mr. Owen served in the Army as an X-ray technician in France from 1941 to 1945. He later served in the Army Air Corps during 1950 and 1951. After WWII he returned to Kansas, graduating from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia in 1950. In August 1950, he married his wife, Norma Jean Barncord. Following graduation, Mr. Owen went to work for Cities Service Oil Company and retired from Occidental Petroleum in January 1986. After residing in Tulsa for 29 years, Mr. and Mrs. Owen retired to Sun Lakes, AZ, in 1998. Mr. Owen is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Norma; brother, Keith Owen of El Dorado, KS; half-sister, Joan Cook of Clear Lakes, CA; daughters, Debra Jean (Owen) Bowlin and husband, Charles, of Broken Arrow, OK, Denise Jean (Owen) Moore and husband, Kevin Moore, of Cypress, TX; grandsons, Robert Edward Bowlin and wife, Jaime of Tulsa, OK; Richard Eugene Bowlin and wife, Ami of Broken Arrow, OK; Randall Evan Bowlin of Stillwater, OK; 2nd Lt. Brian Patrick Moore of Great Falls, MT; granddaughter, Laura Elizabeth Moore of Cypress, TX; and 3 great-grandchildren. Service is 1 p.m., Friday, September 14, 2007, Ninde Woodland Memorial Chapel with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
