Obituary of Alice Kennedy

Alice N. Kennedy was born Aliki N. Fortuna on May 15, 1917 in Varna, Bulgaria, the daughter of Nicholas and Eridis Fortuna. She passed from this life Saturday, March 29, 2014. Her parents, of Greek origin, moved the family of 7 to northern Greece and later to Athens. During World War II, Alice met an American soldier, John S. Kennedy, whom she corresponded with and later married in the United States. They lived in Sapulpa and then moved to Tulsa where they have lived for the past 61 years. During their marriage, Alice and John had three sons, David, Dicky and Danny. Alice was a loving mother and wife who loved to entertain and give to others. She is survived by her husband, John; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Trish Kennedy and Danny and Jana Kennedy. Her son, Dicky preceded her in death. Also surviving are 2 grandsons, Benjamin Kennedy and his wife, Anna and Josh Kennedy; 3 granddaughters, Bailie Land and her husband, Zach, and Cory and Allie Kennedy; and, 3 great grandchildren, Halle, Felix and Heath Kennedy. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Spirit Life Church, 5345 S. Peoria Ave. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to Clarehouse, 7617 S.
