Obituary of Barbara Eaton

Barbara Ann (Bobbie) Eaton, 80, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and aunt.
Bobbie was born in Fremont, Nebraska, on May 3, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Norma T. and Kenneth S. Brown.
Bobbie was a graduate of Okmulgee High School Class of 1951. She was in the Scholastic Honor Society and the Key Notes vocal group.
She married Gordon on February 25, 1951. They have been married for 63 wonderful years and had 5 children.
She retired as President of Tulsa Postal Federal Credit Union in 1993 after 28 years of service. She was a member of the Credit Union Executive society, was actively involved in the Magic Empire Chapter of Credit Unions, the Oklahoma Credit Union League and other various Credit Union Committees.
Her hobbies included sewing, traveling, camping, cooking and canning. She and Gordon enjoyed traveling and traveled to all 50 states throughout the years. They especially enjoyed the family camping trips they took to Colorado for many, many years.
Bobbie had a strong love for her family and many friends. She enjoyed her growing family and they were all very special to her. She loved the many family gatherings at her house, cooking, playing games and having fun. She is very proud of each and every one of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and several other family members. Bobbie is preceded in death by her Son, Steven K. Eaton of Tulsa.
Bobbie is survived by her loving husband, Gordon H. Eaton, retired President of World and Tribune Federal Credit Union; Sons, Gordon H. Eaton III and wife Sunny of Tulsa, Randal S. Eaton and wife Debbie of Tulsa, Thomas S. Eaton and wife Brenda of Tulsa; Daughter, Laura A. Numbers and husband Eric of Owasso, Daughter-in-law Cathy K. Eaton of Tulsa; Sisters, Judith K. Wright of Bristow and Patricia J. Patterson and husband Bill of Okmulgee.
She is survived by her 16 grandchildren, Gordon Eaton IV, Julie Nguyen and husband Scotty, Eric Eaton and wife Karissa, Angela Jones, Emily Mastropietro and husband Dave, Amber Moreno and husband Joel, Ashley White and husband Preston, Randal Eaton, Jr. and wife Shannon, Bucky Brown and husband David, Bobbie Jo Rider, Thomas (Scott) Eaton, Jr. and fiancée Breanna , Timothy Eaton, Christopher Eaton and wife Kari, Jake Numbers, Taylor Numbers, and Katie Numbers.
She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Bobbie and Gordon are active members of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1977.
Memorial service for Bobbie will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Tom McElroy will officiate.
