Obituary of Jean Shimkus

Jean Boston Shimkus was born June 15, 1929 in Dallas, TX to Ruby (Prather) Boston and Jack Boston. She was a long time Tulsan and passed from this life on Saturday, February 1, 2014 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 84.
Jean attended the University of Texas and always considered herself a Texan, despite living in Tulsa since 1960. While attending the University, she also worked in the Texas State Legislature. She retired from IBM in 1988 after more than 30 years with the company in both Dallas and Tulsa.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Jack and Carolyn, as well as her parents. Jean is survived by her daughter Cara Shimkus Hall, son-in-law Michael R. Hall and their two sons Joseph and Alexander, all of Tulsa.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa, designated for the Jean Shimkus Memorial, 12620 E. 31st Street, Tulsa, OK, 74146.
