Obituary of Louis Terrell
Please share a memory of Louis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Louis Hubert Terrell was born on September 13, 1927 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Esther Clara (Boatman) Terrell and Aaron Pryor Terrell. Louis was ushered through heavens gates on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the age of 86.
Louie, as he was better known, was larger than life and lived it to the fullest. He took great joy in serving the Lord, his family and numerous friends from every walk of life. Over a span of 48 years, Louie and Pat were dedicated members of their church, Spirit Life Church, serving wherever they were needed. The host of lives they have blessed in this capacity are too numerous to count. Louie was famous for his booming "Amens", touching prayers and bone crushing hugs. His outgoing personality and bright sport coats were a welcoming sight in the church foyer each Sunday. Louie appreciated good food and fellowship in equal portions and took great delight in sharing it with friends. His hobbies were boating, canoeing, hunting and fishing. Growing up as a farm boy, Louie had a deep love for every aspect of the great outdoors. He had a keen eye and a wealth of information on trees, birds, animals and nature. He could drive down the highway at 80 miles an hour and ask the kids if they saw the hawk in the tree a great distance from the road! Of course by the time the kids focused on where he was pointing they were two miles down the road. He was famous for sharing this wealth of knowledge to any who asked and many who didn't! Louie was the owner/operator of Terrell Heating and Air for 20 years before his retirement in 1994.
He was preceded in death by his father, Aaron Pryor Terrell and stepmother, June Terrell and his mother, Esther Clara Thiry and his stepfather, Floyd Allen Thiry. Louie is survived by his amazing wife of 48 years, Patsy Waller Terrell, of the home; three children: Brent Louis Terrell and wife Kim, Jennifer Lynn Wilkie and husband, Braden, Susan Marlene Bell and husband, Brandon; four of the world's finest (you only had to ask) grandchildren, Cassidy Hobbs Terrell, Logan Dale Wilkie, Lawson Josiah Wilkie and Linleigh Adeline Wilkie; also his cousins, Emma Lou Capps and JoAnn Newman and their children.
We, his family and friends, take great comfort even now, knowing he is most likely sitting under a tree sharing his eternal reward with friends and family already there.
Happy Trails Louie until we meet again.
