Obituary of Patricia Breckinridge-Van Schoyck

Patricia "Pat" Flint Breckinridge-Van Schoyck was born June 16th, 1935 at Tulsa, Oklahoma to Ken and Irene Flint. She attended Lee Elementary School and then Holland Hall until her graduation in 1953. She then attended Pine Manor College in Boston, Massachusetts for one year before matriculating to Oklahoma University. She graduated with a degree in history in 1957. Pat became a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority at OU and stayed involved with the organization for the rest of her life.
Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend. She was a member of the Episcopalian Church. Pat followed family tradition by being on the boards of or volunteering for the betterment of Tulsa. She was especially dedicated to the American Cancer Society, the Arts and Humanities Council, Gilcrease Museum, Holland Hall School, the Tulsa Junior League, Philbrook Museum, the American Red Cross, St. John Hospital, Trinity and St. John Churches, the University of Oklahoma, and the University of Tulsa. She was also a long-time member of Southern Hills Country Club.
Pat loved dancing, animals, travelling, and football - especially OU and the Dallas Cowboys. Spending time in the sun with family and friends, particularly at the beach, was a favorite pastime. Most importantly, she was a wise, vibrant, classy lady. Pat was the quintessential "second mom" to all.
Besides being preceded in death by her parents, she was preceded in death by her two loving husbands, Phillips Breckinridge and Carol Van Schoyck, her stepfather H.F. Gibson, and her sister Julie Pringle. She is survived by her two sons and their wives - Flint and Karin Breckinridge and Phillips R. and Elaine Breckinridge. By them she has three grandchildren - Preston, Heath, and Hunter Breckinridge. She is also survived by her brother Mike Gibson and sister Rev. Melinda Archer as well as the children from her second marriage and their spouses - Patrick and Janell Van Schoyck, Mike and Karen Van Schoyck, Cary and Mike Nalley, Kay and John Bradley, and Judy and Jim Scheel - plus their children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a donation, please do so to the charity of your choice. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Thursday at Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and a service will be held 3:00 pm Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church.
