Obituary of James William Strain
James William Strain, age 44, of Tulsa passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and generosity. Born to Kelle Strain Stanley, James lived a life filled with purpose, touching the hearts of all who knew him. He was a devoted and proud father to Audrey and Maxwell Strain, for whom he gave all of himself in fatherhood.
James was a long-time employee of Sodexo at The University of Tulsa, where his chef skills were appreciated, and his kindness and work ethic left a lasting impression on all who knew him. A passionate Kansas City Chiefs fan, James found joy in celebrating their latest victory shortly before his passing, bringing a smile to his face on his final day with us. His devotion to family and friends was unparalleled, always going the extra mile to show how deeply he cared.
His gentle spirit, thoughtful nature, and boundless generosity will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know him. James had a remarkable ability to love with his entire heart, and perhaps it was his time to leave us because he had selflessly given away all the love he had to give.
He is survived by his mother Kelle Stanley of Tulsa, wife Jessica, their two children Audrey and Max of Bartlesville, OK, and his sister Jessica Fouts of Leslie, AR. Additional family include aunt Kayla and John Hale, uncle Scott Strain, and cousins Connor Acebo, and Milo and Julian Strain. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that random acts of kindness be practiced in James’ name, a fitting tribute to the way he lived his life.
