Merlon D. Scott was born to William and Minnie (Lamb) Scott on June 3, 1934 in Muse, OK, a town located in southeastern Oklahoma near the Ouachita National Forest. Merlon passed from this life on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the age of 79.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1950 and was honorably discharged in 1951. He was married to Galatha Earlene (Terry) Scott, she preceded him in death in 2007.
When he was not working, Merlon volunteered his time to his church, Grace United Methodist Church and an organization dear to his heart, Restore Hope. He was family oriented, they came first. He did anything to make their lives better and he was dearly loved by his girls.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Galatha; a daughter Terry Williams; a sister Lillian Scott and a brother Leroy Scott. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Schroer, Marilyn Montanaro and Cynthia Scott Hood, all of Tulsa; 2 sisters, Edith Hadder and Janis Parker, both of Dallas, TX; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
