Obituary of Roderick Randal Lane

Roderick Randal Lane was born May 16, 1974, in Shreveport, LA to Gayle (Buggs) McDonald and James Vernell Lane.  Roderick passed from this life August 6, 2023, in Wichita, KS at the age of 49.

From an early age, Roderick was fascinated by his grandparents taking him fishing in their motorboat. His love for fishing and his great delight in the outdoors fueled his passion for all things nature; hiking, camping, exploring, hunting and of course, fishing! He loved his mom and sister passionately and displayed strong gratitude and love to Almighty GOD! Roderick’s great love extended to his wife Crystal and his children Keisha, Keiondre, Keidin and the love of his life, granddaughter Zendayah. Roderick’s love and family is only made complete by his lifelong friends and family John Ortiz and Kathy Ortiz family Grace and Millie Ortiz. Michael Shouse and Heather Dean were very dear friends in Roderick’s life. Deon Graham and Wienny. Lyndell and Lauren Lily all held very special places in Roderick's heart. Benta, Caleb, Isaiah and Noah too precious to forget! There are just too many people Roderick held near and dear to his heart of love to name. Above everyone, Roderick loved, served and honored his LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST and taught, honored and modeled his love of the Father as he transitioned from earth to Heaven!! Certainly, we know the Lord Jesus Christ sent us a “Prince” to share the sweetest love I know!! Thank you, Lord Jesus, for both my beautiful babies now resting in your loving arms!! I am so very thankful!!! Mom, Dad, Family, and Friends.

Preceded in death by his sister, Tamika Lane, Roderick is survived by his parents; his stepfather, Tony Dean McDonald; and his wife and children. 

Roderick will lie in state from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17 with family receiving friends from 5-7pm and his funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 18 both at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and Chapel, Tulsa, OK.  He will be laid to rest 12:00 Friday, August 18 at Park Grove Cemetery, Broken Arrow, OK.
