Obituary of Barbara Monday

Barbara Monday was born in Muskogee, OK on June 29, 1933 to Wyeth Hickerson and Vivian Jolly. Barbara went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 12, 2013 at the age of 80. She married Melvin Monday, Sr., on November 4, 1953 and they were married for 59 years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Lillian Hill and her brother, Coster Jolly. She is survived by her husband, Melvin Monday, Sr.; six children, Darie Monday (Janet), Melvin Monday, Jr. (Brenda), Kenneth Monday (Donna), Sharon Moore, Deborah Lewis (Charles) and Steve Monday (Tiffany); her two brothers, Willard Jolly (Donna) and William Jolly; sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and host of relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home, 3841 S. Peoria, Tulsa, OK 74105. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Full Gospel Family Outreach Ministry, 1609 N. Evanston Place, Tulsa, OK 74106. Reverend Daryl Hairston will be officiating and Reverend Charles Lewis will provide the eulogy. Pallbearers will be the sons and grandsons of Barbara Monday and a friend, Harry Bennett. Burial will follow the funeral at Green Acres Cemetery, 12410 N. Yale, Skiatook, OK.
