Obituary of Marc William Evans
Please share a memory of Marc to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Marc William Evans passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the age of 68. He is survived by his brother, Falkner Carter Evans of New York City; son, Stephen Womble Evans; daughter and son-in-law, Joanna and Erik Lundberg; and three-year-old grandson Reece Clayton Lundberg all of Tulsa. Marc was predeceased by his mother, Natalie Broach Evans, and his father, C. Paul Evans.
Born a month later than expected in April 1955, Marc bounded into this world as a 10-pound baby at St. John’s Hospital. As a kid, he learned how to play golf and before long, he was regularly competing in junior tournaments throughout the surrounding area. He attended college at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas (where he had received a golf scholarship), followed by Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Marc entered the world of finance in the early 80’s as a stockbroker, with a focus on financial investments and planning. Through the years, he steadily built his book of clients based on the strong relationships he had forged, as well as his ability to specialize in curated stock selection.
For 50-plus years of his life, Marc enjoyed playing golf with his friends or with his son, Stephen, who inherited his father’s love of the sport. When not on the golf course or with family and friends, Marc was known for his voracious reading and ability to plow through (and absorb) books in record time.
So, what else can we tell you about Marc Evans? What immediately comes to mind is that he most always wore a smile and was the quintessential “people person” with a heart of gold. He enjoyed fine wine and food and lived his life to the fullest. Marc enjoyed socializing with his various friend groups and was known to join a weekly happy hour or two---or drum up a card game with the regulars at Southern Hills Country Club. He was also someone who loved sports and who was not in the least bit shy about sports betting (particularly on football) when so inclined.
Marc was a generous soul who loved his family, as well as the many friends he had made throughout the course of his lifetime. In turn, he will be deeply missed and never, ever forgotten by all who knew and loved him.
