I first met Marty in what was once called "Junior High School". He had the reputation at that time of being something of a badass.. My initial impression was that he wasn't much of a talker, boy was I wrong about that! About at that time and all through High School, we became neighbors. I can remember more than one afternoon winding up at his house and checking out some cool record his older brother had brought home from school. The occasional jazz cigarette may have been involved as well. Marty was always into music and I think he was instrumental in getting our high school band "Lightyear" to play at some Key Club "sponsored" parties where naughty behavior may or may not have been encouraged...
Later in life I would see him out and about, or sometimes where I worked, and it was always good to see him and catch up a bit. He always pronounced my name "Day-mon" (French style from day one which I thought was quite hip at the time) and makes me smile when I think about it now.
My heart goes out to his family, especially to his children who I know he was so proud of. Too soon gone my friend...

I'm very sorry to hear of this loss.
Many of the oil folks I know knew Marshall very well. I did not.
My few interactions with him told me volumes of his character.
He took the time to try and help me on a few occasions when he didn't have to.
I will remember him with kindness and gratitude.

I was Marshall’s supervisor in the employee communications group at Public Service Co of Oklahoma. (I only knew him as Marshall for years until I learned everybody called him Marty).
I very much enjoyed working with him. Good writer, super-bright, personality to the max, and tremendous sense of humor. His joie de vivre livened up the office, for sure.

So sorry to hear of Marty's passing. I always thought a lot of Marty. He was so helpful with oil and gas questions that I had.
