Q: What 3 words best describe Janet and why?
A: Kind, smart and beautiful.
Janet was one of the kindest, most caring friends I’ve ever known. We’ve known each other for years, enjoyed visiting at church and would have engaging conversations on the phone. She loved the Jewish people and especially her Jewish friend, “Merrill”.
Janet was extremely well educated and always up to date on current events. She cared a lot about her community, her friends and most of all, her daughter, Sarah.
I am so saddened to hear of her passing. We used to bump into each other occasionally at Whole Foods. That was always a nice surprise. In fact I always think of Janet when I pop into Whole Foods. Now that will mean even more to me. The pandemic changed all of our lives in so many ways. I regret that I didn’t reach out to Janet more often and treasure those times together. Our hearts go out to Sarah and Tim and her extended family. Heaven has just become a more beautiful place by her entrance there. Let us embrace each other more dearly with the time we have to do so. With all our love,
Merrill and Patty Vogel

Janet has been a friend and classmate since 1953, we shared our first class in the third grade. We had a great friendship throughout our school years. We both enjoyed music, me in Band and her in Chior. We lost touch for a few years after graduation while we both pursued our futures. We reconnected on a closer and more personal basis a few years back while my husband was very sick and she too was dealing with her own health issues. The last couple of years we became prayer partners and we shared listening to one common teacher of God's word - Dr David Jeremiah. We shared many conversations after listening to his daily teachings. We prayed together for friends we knew were sick or had upcoming surgery and we prayed for our families. Janet could no longer go out and do the things we all once did so when our class got together for luncheons or anything else, if pictures were taken I always emailed them to her so she could still feel like she was a part of what we did. Janet wanted to still be a part of her CPHS Class of 64, she loved her classmates and friends, she was truly a Sandite then and now - so many of us are going to miss you, especially me, I will miss our weekly calls. Save me a seat near you in heaven, remember how much I loved you and thank you for all the sharing. May God bless and look after Sarah and her family until we are all together again. Hugs - Shelia Hanson Sellers

Janet was my beautiful HS classmate that was well liked and admired. She dated one other classmate so the rest of kept our distance. She was a class act, admired by the men and envied by most of the girls. Haven’t seen her in years, but I know she remained a lady. Frankly, always thought she would move to one of the coast where she would have thrived in so many ways. Gone to soon, safe now.

It is so hard to bear, losing such a dear friend. I miss her voice, her hearty laughter, her prayers, our long talks about the LORD. I cry deeply from the ache in my heart. Seeya later, my friend and sister in the LORD.

When I remember Janet I think of the beautiful girl singing and dancing ,,and being thrown around in the dance number with the acting Shriners in the High School play Bye Bye Birdie! She was so beautiful and did such a fantastic job acting and doing it all! I admired her so. She was one year ahead of me in school ..After she Graduated I never saw her again, but never forgot her. I’m so sorry for the loss of your sweet Mom. She was beautiful, smart, talented and sweet. She’s now healed in Heaven ! Sincerely, Vonda Snodgrass

For several years Janet and I along with Gloria have met once a month for lunch and just to chat. When Covid hit we stopped and in the last year had been looking forward to resuming our get togethers. I am so sad we will not get the chance to be together again. I will miss her.
