Obituary of Kathleen M. Williams

Please share a memory of Kathleen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kathleen McConnell Williams, 95, died on January 25, 2022 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born in Bronxville, New York on October 27,1926, the older of two daughters of Albert Reynolds McConnell and Stella Connelly McConnell. Kathleen was raised in Greenwich, Connecticut, where she graduated from the Greenwich Academy. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. Kathleen married the love of her life, Charles Pettigrew Williams, on June 6, 1953 in New York City, with whom she enjoyed an extremely full life. Charles predeceased Kathleen on June 29, 2003 after celebrating 50 wonderful years of marriage. She was mother to three and grandmother to seven. Upon her marriage to Charlie in 1953, they headed west to begin their lives together in Tulsa. While Charlie managed business at The Williams Companies, Kathleen devoted her days to family, home, and volunteering. She was an active volunteer for many years with the Tulsa Junior League, as well as the Tulsa Community Chest and Children’s Medical Center, through her dedicated support of the Tulsa Charity Horse Show. In recent years, she had been a devoted parishioner at St. John’s Episcopal Church, previously at Trinity Episcopal Church. She was also an active member of Southern Hills Country Club. She adored music and the arts, and enjoyed supporting the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra and Philbrook Art Museum. For nearly forty years, Kathleen and Charlie enjoyed their winter home in Jupiter Island, Florida in the company of close friends and extended family. They enjoyed travelling the world extensively together for business, as well as for pleasure with the company of close friends and family. Kathleen’s family and friends knew her to be always extremely gracious, supportive, and generous. She was a devoted and loving wife and proud mother, who always cherished the company of her children, grandchildren, and many friends and relatives. She is survived by her three children, Helen W. Marston of Brookline, MA, Charles P. Williams, Jr. of Park City, UT, and Kathleen (Kate) M. Williams of Rancho Santa Fe, CA, and seven grandchildren. Kathleen’s younger sister, Alberta McConnell Stehle, predeceased her in 2009. The family would like to recognize the wonderful care Kathleen received from her dedicated team of caregivers and community at Montereau, especially Dixie Jones, whose loving dedication helped her live her last years with grace and dignity. A service to celebrate Kathleen’s life is planned for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26 at St. John’s Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, gifts to honor her memory may be made to the Montereau Benevolent Fund or St. John’s Episcopal Church in Tulsa.
