Obituary of Rod McKee

Rodney Russell McKee was born October 8, 1961 in Marshalltown, IA to Edward & Shirley Ruth (Guy) McKee and passed from this life on August 23, 2021 at the age of 59. Rod never missed an opportunity to bring joy to his professional and personal relationships, always being quick to a joke with a classic "Rod McKee" smile and wit. He brought a sense of security to those around him with his willingness to protect. Rod was known for his undeniable love for his two children and his admirable single parenting for many years. He was a loyal friend and would do anything for those he loved. He always put others above himself. Rod enjoyed the outdoors, horses, riding his motorcycle, and being the life of the party. He lived life with purpose, integrity, and passion. Gone too soon and will be greatly missed. Your memory will forever be with us. Rod is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Brad McKee. He is survived by his significant other, Cynthia De Armond; his daughter Elizabeth Ruth McKee and her husband, Matt; his son Travis McKee and his fiancée, Madisson Gronholdt; his brother, Martin McKee; his sister, Patty Hauersperger; his granddaughters, Savannah and Addilynn; his niece, Vali Jo; and his nephew, Dalton. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A private burial service was held October 8th, 2021 for family at Oak Hill Cemetery Tama, IA with a Celebration of Life to be held at a future time.
