Obituary of Judith DeMier Crewson
Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Judith DeMier Crewson, 82, of Tulsa, OK passed away peacefully on April 28, 2021, with her devoted husband of 64 years, Joel Crewson by her side. Judy was born on July 13, 1938 in Tulsa, OK to Fred and Martha DeMier. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Michael DeMier and Elizabeth Follis.
Judy spent her formative years growing up in Miami, OK prior to moving to Tulsa just before her senior year in high school. Judy attended Oklahoma University and was introduced to her bind date, Joel, a recent graduate from Oklahoma A & M and the rest as they say was “history”. Judy and Joel eventually settled in to call Tulsa their forever home.
With a thirst for continuing knowledge and an adventuresome spirit, Judy took an ultimate leap of faith and delved into the working world. It was with this move that she forever changed her personal course of history and became Oklahoma’s first female commodity broker. Her drive would additionally carry her forward to obtain her licensure in securities, insurance and other investments. Judy would successfully retire after 35 years from a thriving career with Morgan Stanley as Associate Vice President and would continue to call many of her clients her friends.
Judy loved her husband and family dearly and together assisted both daughters into a thriving adulthood. She firmly believed in a good education and used her professional acumen to see that both daughters, Elizabeth and Martha, were provided with the tools they needed to succeed. Elizabeth Crewson Paris, of Washington, DC and Martha Crewson Mitchell of Fayetteville, AR will be forever indebted to her for her gifts of knowledge, life and fortitude and will continue to carry on her legacy.
Her survivors include, Joel, Elizabeth (Dave Press), Martha (Jack) and Martha’s children, Zachary Rolle (Kristen) and their son, Andrew of Fayetteville, AR, Shannon Rolle of Kansas City, MO, and Hannah Rolle of Lexington, KY, and brothers, Fred H. and George DeMier also of Tulsa, as well as her beloved golden, Sadie.
The family wishes to thank Green Country Hospice as well as all of the staff and volunteers at Clarehouse, Tulsa, OK. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to Clarehouse or visit their “Wish List” at www.clarehouse.org. A private family service was held on May 3, 2021 at Calvary Cemetery and a celebration of Judy’s life and accomplishments will be scheduled for a later date.
