Obituary of Kelly Kristine Rapp

Please share a memory of Kelly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On October 2, 2020, Kelly Kristine Rapp passed through the veil separating the living and the dead. Born August 8, 1962 she lived to the young age of 58 years after staring cancer in the face for the last three years. She believed all things happen at the time they are meant to and if it is bad, it will pass and if it is good, cherish it, for it too will pass. She stood up for herself and was never afraid to call out if there was a wrong, nor a pink elephant, in the world. Her spunk and fieriness fed her determination to always find the good. She never wanted to be in the spotlight but was always the staunchest of supporters and the most enthusiastic cheerleader. She met the love of her life, Chris, a city boy from Chicago, in 1996 and they were inseparable from time they were married in May of 1998 until the end. They always lived a full life together with the thought of Carpe Diem driving their decisions. The shared love of theater and the arts had them galivanting across the country from New York to Las Vegas, Chicago to Dallas, Atlanta to Seattle in search of new shows or exhibits. New cuisines where always on the menu wherever she was because she felt if somebody found it interesting, it would be worth trying. One of her hobbies was painting the inside of the house. You never knew what color a room might be when you came home because she felt if it didn’t work, it was only another can of paint to change it. Kelly spent most of her career in either the Oil & Gas field or medical offices. She always approached each job with the attitude of “How can I make this better?” and left it in better condition than she found it. But throughout it all, her favorite job title was Mom. After retiring, she spent countless hours in her beloved veggie garden growing tomatoes, peppers, herbs and anything else that struck her fancy. Kelly is survived by her husband Chris; her mother Jeannie (Bill) Speed of Atlanta, GA; her father Ron (Linda) Jackson of San Miguel Allende, MX; her daughter Adelaide (Tyler) Webb of Norman, OK; her son Evan Hobbs of Tulsa, OK; her sister Shelly (Joe) Goins of San Antonio, TX; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins throughout the states. There will be a semi-private service on October 24, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Harvard Avenue Christian Church and a Celebration of Life party at the Marriott Southern Hills from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. She requested no black to be worn, only spring colors for celebrating a life well lived. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society.
