Although Nan and I became acquainted as 10 year olds, I didn't really know Brint well for the first few years because he was a HUGE five years younger than we were. But I did get to know him when we were all older, and he became a favorite man friend of mine. A kinder, sweeter guy hasn't possessed a handsomer form. Though our visits with each other were rare events, living in distant cities, I'm still going to miss him very much. My husband, David, and I send our condolences out to his entire family.
With love, April Tayman

BROTHER BRINT,
WHAT A DARKEN DAY!!!, SINCE THE TIME I HAVE KNOWN "YOU PASSED AWAY".
I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT OF YOU.
YOU WERE A GREAT PERSON, YOU GAVE AND HELPED ME LOTS OF THINGS DURING
THE TIME WE SHARED THE APARTMENT AND WORKED TOGETHER AT VALERO REFINERY
PLANT IN PORT ARTHUR, TEXAS. I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN THE NIGHT I WAS SLEEPING,
DUE TO THE WEATHER WAS COLD, YOU HANDED YOUR BLANKET TO ME WHILE YOU USED THE MATTRESS SHEET COVER.
YOU GAVE, SMILED, HELPED ALL THE FRIENDS WHOM YOU KNEW.
YOUR HEART WAS BIG AS BIG IN THE WORLD.
ALL THE ITEMS THAT YOU BOUGHT FOR ME, I HAVE STILL KEPT WITH ME.
YOU ALWAYS TOLD ME "YOU LOVED YOUR FATHER, YOUR MOTHER, AND YOUR FAMILIES SO MUCH.
NOW YOU WILL STAY, LIVE, AND RE-UNITE WITH YOUR PARENT AT THE PEACEFUL
PLACE IN THE HEAVEN.
BROTHER BRINT, ALL OF YOUR LOVED ONE HAVE DEEPLY MISSED YOU.
OUT OF SIGHT, BUT NEVER OUT OF MIND
YOUR IMAGE AND YOUR SOUL WILL BE AROUND
WITH YOUR LOVELY FAMILIES AND FRIENDS.
GOOD BYE!!! GOOD BYE!!! GREAT, GREAT BROTHER.

Patty, Mary, Nan and all of our dear family members, Memories of Brint have been much in my thoughts these last few days. W.T. & I remember the happy time of his birth and all the wonderful funny stories of this mischievous little boy growing up with his sisters on oil leases in South Texas.
It was such a time of celebration when the Baker family moved to Tulsa and our two growing families had such happy years together.
Brint was protective of Lisa and Kathryn, although I do remember him complaining that "Lisa just will not mind me."
I remember Brint & Terry Jr. fishing together in Arkansas and as teenagers spear-fishing in the Ark. River.
He played the piano with great joy and zeal...his hands moving expressively on notes not from pages of music but from his heart.
I will never forget his shocked face when coming home from school, he found me puffing on a cigar so as to get ash to try to remove a water stain on Bob & Nancys' beautiful table.
He was so proud and happy at his U.ofA. graduation in Geology. He always had a special love of the natural world.
Nancy and I visited him when he was working in Jacksonville, FL. He was a marvelous host.
For one of our anniversaries, Brint gave Terry and I a geologist book of rocks. I was trying to collect rocks to give to the grandchildren and his book was a great help. He explained to me about the layers of sediment in theGrand Canyon.
Brint loved to read and shared one that I have loved. "Blue Lattitudes" about the explorations of Captain Cook.
There were very happy times at Happy Hour with Nancy. And I will always be so appreciative that he and Nancy shared saying the Twenty-Third Psalm. His joyful gentle soul will be greatly missed. In love, Aunt Lynn

Our family met Brint on Christmas day at Nancy, Neil, Evan and Andrew's house . After a wonderful dinner ,Nancy and I were playing Gesu Bambino in the living room and Brint was in the kitchen, sleeves rolled up , washing pots and pans and loving every moment of his sister's beautiful music. He was a quiet , gentle, kind soul and my mother who was almost 80 at the time, thought he was the most handsome man she ever laid eyes on. Five years ago on my mother's 90th birthday , I called to tell her Brint was getting married. She said in a very grieving voice "OHHH, another one taken!!".
The only peace I find in losing Brint too soon, is the thought that Brint and Nancy Baker are together smiling, laughing, hugging and taking care of each other again. We are so grateful you shared your lives with us and we had the chance to know him. We send you all our love and will be with you always. Connie, Steve and Kelly

My heart goes out to all of you in this time of great loss. 58 is FAR too short! Patty - I am sure your marriage was way too short. I did not know Brint well, only having seen him occasionally through Mary and Carol. To the Baker family - this so soon on the heels of Nancy's death compounds your grief. May you receive comfort from the many good wishes and positive energy sent your way from the many who know and love you. Blessings

In life, most of us can count our true friends on one hand. Brint was one those people with respect to me. Brint and I were college roommates in the early 1980's, life time friends and soul brothers. Brint was an amazing man. He rarely got upset and he was always there to offer most any type of assistance. Some may say he had one of those "happy go lucky" attitudes. There are many stories that I could share regarding the countless good times we had as well as the many good things Brint did for others. During the last twenty plus years we stayed in consistent contact often having long discussions late at night. These late night discussions were profound in many ways and I will miss not speaking to my friend. Brint was not a judgmental man which is somewhat of rarity. He accepted you for who you were. He would not "hurt a flea" so to write.
I will deeply miss my friend. His candor, laughter and our friendship will burn forever. Tears flowed from me when Patty told me he had relapsed. I knew the end was near. Farewell for now my dearest friend. I love you and as long as I have the memories you will never be truly gone.
