Michael L. Margrave was born January 14, 1946 in Chanute, KS to Merle L. & Mildred Vivian (Wells) Margrave and passed from this on October 16, 2016 in Tulsa, OK surrounded by his loving family at the age of 70.
Mike joined the Navy right out of high school. When he left the navy he returned to Wichita and attended WSU. There he met Karen and completed his B.S. From there he went to KU to complete a Masters in Computer Science. They moved to Tulsa after graduation and worked for AMOCO, American Airlines, Sabre, EDS and HP.
Mike loved to fish and was a member of the Amoco Bass Club. He was a member of Boston Avenue Methodist Church for almost 40 years and he loved to travel. He was very good at trouble shooting a computer. Mike never met a stranger, just people who didn’t know they had a new friend. He had a way of making people feel comfortable and accepted. He was comfortable having a tea party with 3 year olds or playing cards with 80 year olds. He loved going to new places and meeting new people and telling dumb jokes and trading stories with the people he met. He was a good man and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Michael is survived by his wife, Karen S. (West) Margrave; his sister, Sue (Garrold) Carpenter; his brothers-in-law, Ellis & Gregg (Agnes) West; his nieces, Lisa (Paul) Heidel, Kimberly (Craig) Moelis, Luciana West, Alexandria Mindiola; his nephews, Michael (Jennie) and Doug Erickson.
