Dear Anita and family,
Our Tanglewood family has lost a great spirit from our midst. Although I've not been able to stay extended times through the years, I have always enjoyed my chats with Vic, and remember how thoughtful he was to make everyone feel welcomed and wanted when we would "party" at your beautiful home. We are all celebrating our time with this very special man and I want to send my condolences to you and your family.
Very truly yours,
Carol

Anita, the loss of Vic will leave gaps in many places. I add my prayers to those of other friends for you and your family for the peace that only God can provide. Don and I so very much enjoyed our visit with you two at Westcliffe in Colorado. And, of course, I firmly believe Don's life was extended because of the excellent care received from Dr. Forrest in Vic's office. I lost Don June, 2010; but he lived 16 years after stage 4 diagnosis. Vic's life touched so many people in Tulsa, Colorado, and many other places. I am so grateful that his life touched Don's and mine, too. I have thought many times of your lovely house in CO and of the precious paintings of rabbits on the little truck. I have enjoyed these wonderful memories many times since that summer!
As a widow of almost 6 years, I want to encourage you to thank God for Vic and for so many memories you and he made together. I never wanted to be alone again, and I am certain you felt the same.
If you would like to visit when you are in Tulsa sometime, please feel free to call me on my cell at 918-760-3979. I will be glad to meet you, even though I have moved to the Okmulgee Baptist Village. Tulsa is only 40 to 50 minutes away. I drive back and forth two or three times a week.
I continue to pray for comfort and peace in this very sad time for you and your family. Sincerely, Wanda

It is always a treat to see both of you at Tanglewood. There were often warm abundant smiles during those encounters and Vic often shared a story or two about you or the kids/grandkids and my Grandparents Spec and Merle. I loved hearing them and was so thankful he took the time to share. Every time he spoke about my grandparents I would be flooded with fond memories of long ago. The last few times I was at the Reynolds cabin I stopped by but never caught you all there. I can't express how sorry I am to hear this news Anita.
My heart is with you,
Brad Thomas

Doc Robards will leave a large whole in the King Family. My grandparents Essie and King adopted Vic and Anita into our family many, many years ago in Tulsa. My parents, Skip and Betty became friends with Vic and Anita and my brothers Vic and Gary with Rodney and myself with Laura. We all spent many fabulous summers together in Tanglewood Acres growing up. Anita ran the Arts and Crafts classes for 'Tanglewood Summer Camp'. Vic and Anita then years later adopted my brother Gary and his wife Kim when they married and moved to Tulsa some years ago. It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Doc Robards and we wish peace to Anita, Rodney, Laura and the rest of the family.

Dear Anita,
Deepest sadness is in our hearts at hearing of Vic's passing. Time and distance have kept us all apart the last few years; but, nothing can dim the love and kindness that you both gave to us so many times in our lives. Thanks for the memories of many medical mission trips together and lots of BMDF meetings. Vic's guidance and wisdom have meant so much. Over and over again, his presence and confidence in us made all the difference.
Your sadness must be overwhelming right now. Please know that we share it in the degree that we can. Thank God that He has given us the hope that we will all be together again someday!
Love, Fred and Lavada

Dear, Anita, Rodney, Laura & all the Family I can't even put in words the extreme saddest I felt when I hear of the unexpected passing of Dr. Robards. He was like a father to me. I owe him a lot for where I am today as leader in Healthcare, but more importantly the person I am. He always encouraged me and served as my mentor for the 16 Years and beyond I worked at Urologic Specialists, (Formally Known as "Tulsa Urologic Clinic"). While not know to me at the time it was the start of a 32 year career in Health Care. Beginning as a File Clerk in March 1983 and ended the last 9 years as the Administrator. As a file clerk, I use accuse him of staying up at nights thinking of crazy things for me to do. Such as, go the house and feed Rodney's goat, one time the goat got out and I chased it all over the neighborhood:) had be pick hunting rifles I had to come up the elevator with. I always admired him for his devotion to his family and his work we had a many long talks. Leaving the USO was the hardest thing I ever did in my life. I recall like it was yesterday going his house to share I was leaving. While I have been gone in person since April 1999 and have spent the last 13 years in Green Bay, Wisconsin, I left a great deal of my heart at the clinic. It was like working for family; we always celebrated together and helped each other in times of sorrow. Anita, I still have the wonderful gifts you created proudly displayed in my home (My favorites the Bunny Casserole Dish & the Painted Glass) you are such a gifted artist. Rodney & Laura I have such fond memories of you both shared by your father and ones I was able to enjoy in person. Laura, I will never forget the cake at your wedding and how your father lite up when talking about you. Rodney, the care you provided to a number of our pets and again how every proud your father was of you. I loved seeing the change in him as he became a grandfather. My heart and special prays goes out to the entire family. These few memories will always hold a special place in my heart. So he will never be gone. I will honor him with a Donate to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital and by always doing the best I can in everything I do. I send all my love and God Bless you always and help you through this very difficult time. I so wish I could be there in person, but do know I am there in spirit, Love Always Rosalyn

Your dad was absolutely one of my very favorite people on earth.
There was just something about that tiny little smile he got each time I walked in for some new bizarre exam that set me at ease. And, if you think of it, there was no place on earth that would naturally make you LESS at ease.
I didn't get to see him much outside of that little exam room, but he made my life so much better because of the medicine he practiced in that little room, but far more for how he just make you feel good and calm and safe regardless of the woes you faced.
What a wonderful man, I think of him so often, and will miss him dearly.
