Obituary of Bertie Lee Fulkerson

Bertie Lee (Boatright) Fulkerson was born March 1, 1924 in Huntsville, AR to William and Lela (Montgomery) Boatright and passed from this life on October 23, 2015 at the age of 91.
Bertie was a devoted follower of Christ and was passionate about serving the Lord. She enjoyed traveling and was able to visit the Holy Land where she was baptized in the Jordan River, just as Jesus had been. Her other travels included remarkable places such as Thailand and Europe. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family, bird watching, and all things blue. Bertie retired from American Airlines after 36 years of service. She was recognized by President George H. W. Bush for having never taken a day off for sickness in those 36 years. Bertie will be remembered as an elegant woman with a kind soul and a gentle spirit.
Bertie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Fulkerson; her son, Joseph Paul Fulkerson; and siblings, Ruth Culwell, Bill Boatright, Marie Johnson, and Joe Boatright. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Tamera Fulkerson of Jenks, OK; sister, Betty Hunt of San Diego, CA; two granddaughters, Rachel & husband John Bengs of Bixby, OK and Whitney Fulkerson of Broken Arrow, OK; three great granddaughters, Taylor, Rylen and Emersyn Bengs; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Calvary Cemetery Chapel.
