I had the wonderful privilege of knowing Emily from the summer of 1953 till August 1968, when I entered the Navy! Our mothers, Tony Rose and Teddy Hayes, had been best friends since the early 1930's. I was lucky to spend many hours at the Rose home and in the presence of Ms Emily! Those times are etched within my mind and will be forever! Emily was a joy to be around and her personality would light up any room she was in. I fell in love with her only to fail to let her know how much! I have and will miss her very much, as her memory resides in my head for all of time! Her beautiful eyes and warming smile will be my memory of her forever! I would like to write more, but I am having trouble seeing through my tears. All my love and peaceful thoughts for you, Emily Elizabeth!

I am so saddened by Emily's passing. Such an upbeat, encouraging, beautiful lady. Her smile is what always stood out to me. My sincere thoughts and prayers are with the family. I know her faith has transformed her to serinity and peace. God bless Don, Heather and her family. She will be greatly missed. I will hold great memories of the times my family got to spend with her.

I had the wonderful gift of growing up with Emily and living across the street from her. We walked to school together, rode Grandmother Parks' horses, set a really big fire in our neighborhood, climbed out her window at night and ran around the neighborhood. We went on our first dates together; she with my later to be husband, and I with my husband's best friend. I am saddened to hear of her passing, but rejoice and her homecoming into everlasting life. She was a wonderful friend, a really great teacher, and a generous and giving lady.
