Obituary of Alice Grubb

Margaret Alice (McCarty) Grubb was born October 24, 1920 in Robinson, Illinois to Judge William Austin and Elsie (Allen) McCarty. She passed from this life November 9, 2012 at the age of 92 after a brief battle with cancer and is now at home with her Heavenly Father.
Alice was a brilliant young woman having graduated from High School at the age of 16 and Illinois Wesleyan University when she was only 20 years old. After college she worked in Chicago for the National Restaurant Association. During this time, she met the love of her life, Dr. Robert Dale "Bob" Grubb. While Bob was completing his residency, he was called to serve his country as a Medical Doctor in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Bob and Alice were married July 20, 1945 while Bob was serving in the Navy. After the war they lived in Chicago before moving to Tulsa in 1949 where Bob started his medical practice. Alice was a homemaker, beloved and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She and Bob enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dancing, golfing, playing bridge, and traveling. Alice truly lived a full and active life and was loved by many.
She was a member of Boston Avenue Methodist Church where she and Bob enjoyed their Sunday School class and worship services. Alice was active in her community serving as the President of the Tulsa County Medical Auxiliary, President of Tout Le Monde, President of the Womens' Golf Association at Oaks Country Club and President of the Tulsa Mrs. Club. She was a member of the Board of Tulsa Boy's Home, a Silver Service volunteer and was active in numerous other civic and social organizations for over 60 years.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her four children, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. They are Dr. William Robert Grubb and his wife, Becky of Tulsa and their three children Dana Weart and her husband, Jeremy, David and Deanna; Donna Grubb Havins and her husband, Harry of Sugarland, Texas; Allen Dale Grubb and his wife, Stacy of Katy, Texas and their four children Kelsey, Conner, Kyle and Courtney; Alice Ann Grubb Adams and her husband, Charlie of Dallas, Texas and their six children Megan Brooks and her husband, Beau, MacKenzie Carpenter and her husband, Benjamin, Lindsay, Chase, Kristen and Carlton: and great grandchildren McKenna, Cade and Mary Margaret. Also surviving are her sister, Maxine McCarty Seidel and nephews, Dr. Edward A. Seidel and William (Mac) Seidel.
