Obituary of Billie Anne Ebeling
Please share a memory of Billie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anne Ebeling was born February 6, 1924 in Duncan, OK to Pontas Lawrence and Billie Ruby (Cotner) Bergman and passed from this life February 23, 2015 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 91.
Anne was a lady of strength, humility, and incredible faith. Beauty always bloomed in Anne; a reflection in the fragrant roses she grew, the love she gave unconditionally to her family and friends, and her passion for the color pink.
She graduated from Classen High School in 1941 and then continued her education at OCW.
It is no wonder that God blessed her on February 6, 1945 (Anne’s birthday) with the union to the late Harold O. Ebeling in California. In their cherished time together, they raised a wonderful family, lived in many cities, relished friendships where some were continued for over 70 years, devoted themselves to Christ, and supported their Oklahoma Sooners.
She was a participating member in many activities at First United Methodist Church in Tulsa since moving to there in 1975. Card Ministry and the Joyner Sunday school class provided a weekly spiritual time of worship and shared laughter with so many beloved friends.
Anne was very active and involved in several organizations – Garden Club, Assistance League, P.E.O. Sisterhood, Sewing Club, plus on the board of NAMI of Tulsa.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold O. Ebeling, and son, Brent Bergman Ebeling.
Anne had a gift of radiating warmth, love, and grace. Those left to embrace her loving memories are her daughter, Jana Ebeling, her son and daughter in law, Brad & Cathy Ebeling, her granddaughter and husband, Christa & Adam Streebin, and her beloved great granddaughter, Carlisle.
The family will be forever thankful for her devoted caregiver and friend, Gina Lassiter for 7 fun-filled years, Reverend Connie Ichord for her love, friendship and support, Montereau’s staff who adored and cared for her, St Francis Hospice plus Safe Home Care who gave her 24 hours of compassion, dignity and comfort – especially Lisa and Lindsey.
Anne’s Celebration of Life will be at Montereau in the Coterie Theatre at 1:30 pm. Saturday. Reception to follow. A private family committal will be held later.
