Obituary of Eleanor Gallman Robinson

Eleanor Louise Robinson was born September 24, 1917 in Cushing, OK to Charles and Dorothea Gallman. She passed from this life Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at the age of 97. The family moved to Tulsa in 1920 and she started Kindergarten at Pershing School where she first met her husband-to-be, Ralph Robinson. They both attended Pershing, Roosevelt and Central High School together. Eleanor then went on to Oklahoma A & M College (now OSU) and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was a graduate of the Oklahoma School of Business and Accountancy and worked for Loffland Brothers Drilling Co. for a short time.
She and Ralph were married in 1938 and together they owned and operated several dry cleaning businesses in Tulsa, including Brookside Cleaners and Phoenix Cleaners, which is owned and operated by her grandson, Todd Robinson and his wife, Allison. Eleanor worked as bookkeeper as well as tending to many other duties. She and Ralph enjoyed travelling. They toured Europe, Scandinavia and Indonesia and enjoyed seeing Bali, Singapore, Hong Kong, Turkey and Morocco. Closer to home, they enjoyed trips to Hot Springs in the fall. She loved flowers and gardening and was member of Skyline Ridge Garden Club, Sanddiggers and Tulsa Garden Center. She enjoyed playing Bridge and spent many hours on her computer. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ralph Robinson in 2001; her son, Gary Robinson in 2014; her sister, Jeannette Fike; and her brother, Virgil Gallman. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Abbe; daughter-in-law, Debbie Robinson; three grandchildren, Todd Robinson, Robin Truitt and David Abbe; and respective families.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel.
