Julia Mae (Holmes) Haynes was born February 5, 1919 in Dallas, TX to John & Minnie (Hudson) Holmes and passed from this life to her eternal reward on July 1, 2014 at the age of 95.
Julia gave her heart to the Lord at the early age of 17 years. She married Ralph Haynes January 4th, 1943 and he passed on to glory November 3, 1988. She enjoyed working with children and all together through the years she taught Beginners Sunday School class for 26 years. She loved making quilts for family members and especially baby quilts. Her favorite Scriptures are Philippians 4:13 and John 14:27 and her favorite songs are: Hand In Hand with Jesus and Friendship with Jesus and Sweet Beulah Land. Her love and zeal for God and His children will live on in example for us all.
Julia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ralph William Haynes; her brothers, Jake Holmes and Billy Holmes; and her daughter Linda Carol Haynes. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Haynes and his wife Marsha and William Haynes and his wife Deborah; her daughters, Judy Hall and her husband Donald (Tommy) and Janie Goddard and her husband, Don; her brother, Bobby R. Holmes and his wife JoAnn; many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved and prayed for individually.
Julia will lie in state 10:00-12:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home and her funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Airport Freewill Baptist Church. Her graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Ovilla Cemetery in Ovilla, TX.
