Obituary of Mary Lee Wilson

Mary Lee (Copeland) Wilson was born in Arma, Kansas to loving parents Ida and Bill Copeland on May 30, 1930. She passed from this life at St. John Medical Center on September 15, 2011 surrounded by her loving husband of fifty-eight years, Bryan; daughter, Diane Wilson Martin and her husband, Gene of Tulsa; son, Jeff and his wife Paula Gelnar Wilson and their children, Devin Wilson and Kelsey Wilson, all of Rogers, Arkansas. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Barbara McLeod; nieces, Carolyn Winter, Karen Wilson Howard, Kathy Wilson Schultz, Laura Winter, Lisa Winter Hayes, Nancy Winter; and nephew, Jim Wilson.
Mary Lee graduated from Girard, Kansas High School in 1947 and began attending Kansas State Teachers College of Pittsburg (known today as Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas) and the University of Kansas before graduating from Kansas State Teachers College in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She taught second grade while in Lawrence, Kansas and was a substitute teacher in the Tulsa area for many years.
Mary Lee was a Methodist all of her life, a loyal member of the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church for 30 years, and a member of the Homebuilders Sunday School Class. Her interests included volunteering at the Assistance League of Tulsa. Most important of all, she will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, aunt, mother-in-law and friend.
