Obituary of Frances McIntyre

Frances McIntyre, 94, retired from Seismograph Service Corp. During WWII she worked for the State Department in Washington, D.C.. She was a member of both the Secretariat for the U.N. Connference on International Organization held in San Francisco in May, 1945 and the first General Assembly of the U.N. held in New York City, in October 1946. In 1947 she was sent to Athens, Greece as a member of General George C. Marshall's "Aid to Greece". She returned to the United States for re-assignment to Foreign Service but was called to Tulsa by a terminal illness of her uncle and had to resign. She married Dugal McIntyre in 1950 and was divorced in 1965. She is survived by two sons, John Charles McIntyre and his wife Kaddy of New Jersey and James C. McIntyre and his wife Linda of Norman, Oklahoma, grandchildren, John, Kelly, Robert, David and Salik , and four great grandchildren, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Helen Garrett of Temple, Texas, Lois Pittman of Norman, Oklahoma and Wilma Baker of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donation may be made in Frances's name to the American Cancer Society or to the Salvation Army.
