Obituary of Sidney Overturf

Sidney Wayne Overturf was born May 18, 1951 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the son of Homer Alan and Velma Grace (Maimbourg) Overturf. He completed this life on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at his home in Tulsa, surrounded by his family. Sid was in the 1969 graduating class of Memorial High School and received an Associate's Degree from Tulsa Junior College. He was the CEO/President of and a partner in Benzin Motor Works. He married Lynda Lynde Rogers June 3, 1976. Sid raced a Formula Ford at Hallet, was a National Licensed Soccer Coach, and enjoyed sailing at Grand Lake. He coached Youth Soccer and was the Edison High School Soccer Coach during their State Championship run in the 1990's. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lynda; his sons, Sterling Overturf and his wife Megan, their son Landon, and Derek Overturf and his wife Elizabeth and their children Conner and Wyatt all of Tulsa; his sisters: Leona Taylor and her husband William of Tulsa, Della Estes of Cushing, OK and Fran Hardin and her husband Phil of Sapulpa; his brother: Alan Overturf of Jenks. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Ninde Funeral Home. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Ninde Brookside Chapel. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Evangelistic Temple Children's Ministry.
