Obituary of Evelyn Elliott

Evelyn Cora Bowen Elliott was born April 8, 1917 on Easter Sunday the daughter of two wonderful people, Charley and Cora May (Reed) Bowen. Evelyn completed this life at 3:23 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2011. She left this earth like she lived, quietly and peaceful. I had two brothers. One brother died at birth and the other brother, Charles Reeves, died at 58. At the time of my birth, my folks were building a home on the old Sand Springs Road known as Charles Page Blvd. So a month after birth, my folks moved into the new home. That was my home for 79 years. I started my schooling at the old Mark Twain School and graduated from high school in 1935. I had several jobs while going to Business College. I worked for J.C. Penney for 29 years. After retirement, my mother was still with me so I took care of her until she died at age 102. So I was by myself. My marriage didn't work out so I sold my home and moved into the apartment house. God has blessed me with a lot of wonderful friends and a great church, First Baptist. A graveside service will be 9:00 a.m. Friday, July 1st at the Oaklawn Cemetery (11th and Peoria). Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 403 S.
