Obituary of Norman Linstromberg

Norman Julius Linstromberg was born August 18, 1919 in Beaufort, Missouri to William Henry Linstromberg and Wilhelmina Amelia (Vossbrink) Linstromberg. He died on September 9, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 93. He attended local schools and went to the University of Missouri at Columbia, Missouri where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Lieutenant's commission in the U.S. Army. Upon graduation, he began a 43 year career with the Ethyl Corporation which was interrupted by a four year service in the Army. His military service in the 640th Tank Destroyer Battalion was in the Southwest Pacific area. When released from the Army he returned to work at Ethyl Corporation and married Evelyn Rose Dunick on January 5, 1946. Norman's career with Ethyl included many assignments in the Midwest leading up to moving to Tulsa in 1968 to become the Manager of Ethyl's mid-continental region until his retirement in 1984.
Norman is preceded in death by his wife of fifty years Evelyn Rose (Dunick). He is survived by son, William and his wife, Peggy Linstromberg, daughter, Susan and her husband, Hossein Mohandessian, daughter, Nancy and her husband, James Beeson; granddaughter, Jennifer and her husband, Matt Vaughn, grandsons, Daniel Linstromberg, Bryan Hayes and Matthew Linstromberg; great-grandson, Brayden Vaughn, great-granddaughters, Ali Vaughn and Alexis Linstromberg, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and his long time companion Edith Canfield.
Norman enjoyed his daily crossword puzzles, dabbling in the stock market, reading as well as spending time with friends and family. He would be described by those who knew him as the nicest man you could ever meet and was known for his calm demeanor. He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye.
