Abeba Bereketeab-Andu was born October 12, 1955 in Massawa, Eritrea the daughter of Bereketeab G/Meskel and Dehab Kinfu. Abeba fell asleep to our Lord on Saturday, February 19, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 55. Abeba married Berhane Andu on April 11, 1986. They moved to Muskogee where Abeba worked for Muskogee Regional Medical Center as a Phlebotomist. She was a very devout Orthodox Christian. She is survived by her husband: Berhane Andu; her son, Alfa Berhane-Andu; her sister, Haregu Bereketeab, her husband Tewelde Bata and their daughter and son, Asmait and Meron Tewelde of Michigan; her niece, Liliti Wells of North Carolina; Brother-in-law, Woldekidan Andu of Muskogee; Sisters-in-law, Almaz Thornton of Washington and Zehainesh Andu of Illinois; her nieces and nephews , Freweini Kahsay, Misla Tefferi, Michael Teferi, Helen Teferi, Philmon Kahsay and Pheven Kahsay. She is also survived by her co-workers at Muskogee Regional Medical Center as well as her family at Sts. Peter and Paul Coptic Orthodox Church in Bixby and Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Tulsa. Open viewing will be available starting at 10 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2011with the family present from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.. The funeral service will be 6:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011 in the Ninde Brookside Chapel, 3841 S. Peoria. Her burial will be in Dekemhare, Eritrea, located in the eastern region of Africa.
