Obituary of Pierce Reynolds

Pierce Morris Reynolds was born February 17, 1925 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Ralph Anthony and Fleatus (Ledbetter) Reynolds and passed from this life February 14, 2011 at the age of 85. After graduating from the University of Tulsa with an Engineer's degree in 1948 Pierce went to work for Mid-Continent Refinery which was later known as Sunray DX and Sun Oil Company as a Petroleum Engineer eventually becoming manager of the refinery and retiring in 1983. He enjoyed traveling with his family, photography and caring for his wife of 59 years until her death. He served on the Council of Alcoholism and the Community Chest which later became United Way. He was also active in what is now the Morton Health Center. Pierce was a longtime member of the University United Methodist Church where he met and married his bride and he served the Asbury United Methodist Church for twenty years. Faith was an integral part of his life. Preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Helen Jane (Senf) Reynolds; Pierce is survived by his sons, Greg Reynolds of Tulsa and Gary Reynolds of Addison, Texas; a brother, Ralph Ledbetter Reynolds, of El Dorado, AR; ten nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Pierce will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends from 5:007:00 p.m. at the Ninde Woodland Funeral Home. A funeral will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the University Methodist Church, 2915 E. 5th Street, Tulsa, Oklahoma. He will be laid to rest at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
