Sammie Louise Scribner was born August 4, 1930 in Bokchita, Oklahoma to James Thomas and Nancy Jane (Sorrell) Wooton and passed from this life August 7, 2010 at the age of 80.
Louise married Paul Raymond Scribner on February 20, 1953 at the Redfork Baptist Church. Church played a large role in her life. At a young age Louise made her profession of faith to serve Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She served many years at Brookside and Eastwood Baptist churches as a Sunday School Director for fourth grade children. She spent her life serving her Lord and her church and has touched many lives. Louise thoroughly enjoyed her years as a travel agent with AAA Automobile Club as she was given the opportunity to travel the world. She had a love for music and enjoyed playing the piano and singing in the choir.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Janette and Richard Quarles; her son, Ron Scribner; her son and daughter-in-law Ray and Twila Scribner; her sisters, Alice Mays, Alvie Nichols and Wilnetha Waters; and her two grandchildren, Valerie Kathleen Quarles and Whitney Elizabeth Quarles.
Louise will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2010 with family visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home. A funeral will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Eastwood Baptist Church with final interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
