Obituary of Kenwood Irizarry

Kenwood B. Irizarry, 79, born in Tulsa in 1927, the son of Oscar B. and Mary Lou Irizarry. kenwood walked with crutches most of his life. Part of his childhood was psnet in Puerto Rico where he enjoyed his father's large family, the beach and riding Paso Fino horses. The family returned to Tulsa during WWII. In Tulsa he attended the first public school program for crippled children for which his mother had been an active advocate. He was a Boy Scout at Trinity Episcopal Church, a charter member of The Recreatioin Center for the Physically Limited, under the directorship of Aliene Murdock and Coralee Keller and founded by the Jewish Women of Tulsa, and a charter member of the Spirits Unlimited class at Trinity United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday, January 17 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3737 S. Peoria, Tulsa, OK 74105 followed by interment of ashes in the columbarium at Trinity Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to the Center for the Physically Limited, 815 S.
