Obituary of Vesta Bacon

Bacon, Vesta Velma (Hawkins), 85, died on Friday, September 29, 2006 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mrs. Bacon was born September 15, 1921 in Fox, Arkansas the daughter of Emanuel B. and Laura Elizabeth (Harper) Hawkins. She graduated from high school in Clinton, Arkansas. She married Cecil Edward Bacon on June 7, 1940 in Clinton, Arkansas. They moved to Jenks, Oklahoma where they have made their home for many years. She retired from First National Bank where she was a clerk. In her retirement years she worked at the Ninde Funeral Directors at their Jenks Chapel. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Cecil of the home; her son: Paul Bacon of Broken Arrow; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Danny J. Bacon on February 25, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Services will be 10:00 a.m.,Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Faith Temple Assembly of God Church, 9400 E. 131st Street in Bixby with the Revs.Kenneth Linn and James Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Floral Haven Cemetery.
