George Thomas Symons, Jr. 83, died Thursday, April 8, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mr. Symons was born May 30, 1926 in Denver, Colorado the son of George Thomas and Anona Daisy (Durand) Symons. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan Mae (Palmer) Symons on April 21, 1997. He is survived by his daughters: Dawn Camille Grundy and her husband Randy of Tulsa and Christi Paulette Peterson and her husband Michael of Kingwood, Texas; his son: Gregory K. Symons and his wife Jeannie of Aurora, Colorado; his sister: Barbara Plumb of Arlington, Texas; his brothers: Robert Symons of Denver, Colorado and James Symons of Ignacio, Colorado; his grandchildren: Brandi Jackson, Ember Owen, Ashlyn Peterson, Tyler Symons, Luke Symons and Caroline Grundy; and seven great grandchildren. A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Camp Loughridge, 4900 W. 71st Street in Tulsa. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Tulsa Area United Way, 1430 S. Boulder, Tulsa, OK 74119.
