Obituary of Pressley Jenkins

Pressley A. Jenkins, Jr., "P.A", 87, of Tulsa, passed from this life on Sunday, March 28, 2010. P.A. was born on December 25, 1922, in Bluejacket, OK to Pressley and Fleeta (Odell) Jenkins. He graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1940 and married Wynona Fay Couch on April 25, 1942. P.A. entered the army six months later during WWII. P.A. later became a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the Pilgrim Rock Lodge in Tulsa, OK. He was also a member of the Tulsa Scottish Rite. He received his 50th year pin in 1997. After returning from WWII, P.A. was employed by Western Electric and later was district manager for Farmers Insurance Company. In 1952, after leaving Farmers Insurance Company, he formed General Building &amp; Supply Company with his long-term friend Jack Shunck. After Jack sold his interest, P.A. partnered with Hans A. Christensen &amp; Clark Spears to build numerous apartment complexes and commercial properties in Tulsa. He retired in 1978 at the age of 55. The management of General Building was turned over to Jerry Cinocca and his sons, Darrell, Wesley &amp; Larry Jenkins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Doyle Jenkins and his sister, Mary Lee Gilmore. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Wynona (Nona) of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and P.Kae Jenkins, Wesley and Cynthia Jenkins, and Larry and Debbie Jenkins; grandchildren, Allen Jenkins, Travis Jenkins and his wife, Laurie, Keri Jenkins, Brent Jenkins and his wife, Heather, Erin Sewell and her husband, Evan, Matthew Jenkins, and Ashlee Jenkins and great grandchildren; Mariah Jenkins, Paxton Jenkins, Trent Jenkins and Emery Sewell. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday and funeral service 2:00 P.M. Wednesday both at Ninde Woodland Memorial Chapel entombment at Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Bethany Free Will Baptist Church in Broken Arrow.
