Obituary of Richard Garrison

Richard Morton Garrison was born April 22, 1944 in Cortez, Colorado to Sylvester Emic and Pearl Josephine (Wills) Garrison and passed from this life March 18, 2010 at the age of 65.
In 1962 he graduated high school from Central High School in Tulsa as an honor student. Upon graduation from high school Richard served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. On his return stateside he worked as a pipeline welder which included work at the Nuclear Rocket Deveolpment site in Nevada and the Aleutian Islands as well as the great pipeline in Alaska. Later in his career he brought his skills to Oklahoma. Richard was a son, brother, uncle, husband, father and grandfather.
Preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kenneth Garrison; his sisters, Shirley Both, Deena DePaulo and Louise Ingraham; Richard is survived by his daughter, Amanda McCarly; his son, Russell Garrison; his sisters, Rosetta Pierre, Pauline Brock, Carol Garrison and Lois Couch; his brother, Louis Garrison; and his three grandchildren, Ruger Garrison, Mallorey Garrison and Brandy McCarly.
Richard will lie in state 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday with a funeral service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, both at the Ninde Brookside Funeral Home Chapel. He will be laid to rest in the Blackburn Cemetery, Blackburn, Oklahoma.
